What sticker capsules are

Sticker capsules hold stickers you can apply to your weapons in CS2. There are three main kinds:

  • Community capsules with stickers designed by players and artists, often around a theme.
  • Tournament capsules with team logos from a Major, released for the event.
  • Special capsules made with partners or for occasions, like franchise collaborations.

Unlike weapon cases, capsules open without a key. You pay only for the capsule.

Sticker rarities and finishes

Stickers use four rarities, from most to least common:

Rarity Colour
High Grade Blue
Remarkable Purple
Exotic Pink
Extraordinary Red

Many stickers also come in different finishes, such as Paper, Glitter, Holo, Foil, Lenticular or Gold. A Holo or Foil version is rarer than the plain one and usually worth much more. Each capsule page shows every sticker in it with its rarity and today’s price.

Odds

Valve hasn’t published odds for sticker capsules. Our simulator uses the common estimate that each rarity is about five times rarer than the one below: roughly 80% High Grade, 16% Remarkable, 3.2% Exotic and 0.64% Extraordinary for a capsule with all four. Treat these as estimates, as each capsule page says.

Why some stickers become expensive

Most stickers from a capsule are worth only cents when the capsule is new. Over time, a few become valuable because:

  • the capsule stops being sold, so supply is fixed,
  • a sticker becomes popular for crafts on expensive skins,
  • or a team logo gains history, for example a team that later won Majors.

Old tournament stickers in Holo or Foil are among the most valuable items in the game. Today’s prices for every sticker are on each capsule page.

Capsules from the Majors

Tournament capsules are released for each Major, and part of what’s paid for them goes to the teams. For signed player stickers from the same events, see the autograph capsules. For skins with match stickers already applied, see souvenir packages.

Using the simulator

Open any capsule with play money and see which sticker you get and what it’s worth today. Your stickers go to the inventory saved in your browser, where you can see your total value and sell them back to your play-money balance.
