The Kukri was the first new knife added to Counter-Strike 2, and the first new knife in the series since Operation Shattered Web in 2019. It arrived with the Kilowatt Case in February 2024 and has since become one of the cheaper ways into a knife. Here is every finish, the two cases that drop it, and what each one costs right now.
Where the Kukri comes from
Only two cases have the Kukri, and both have the exact same 13 Kukri finishes as their whole gold pool:
| Case | Cost to open (with key) | Return per opening |
|---|---|---|
| Kilowatt Case | $2.60 | 28.6% |
| Gallery Case | $3.11 | 44.4% |
The Kukri chance is the same in both: 0.26%, or about one in 385 openings. Since the gold pools are identical, the Kilowatt Case is the cheaper ticket to a Kukri. The Gallery Case returns more per opening overall because its other skins are worth more, as our case expected value ranking shows. Both are in the current weekly drop pool, which is why they are so cheap.
All 13 finishes and their prices

| Fade | 0.00–0.08 | $151.64 | – | – |

| Blue Steel | 0.00–1.00 | $127.19 | $71.70 | $71.54 |
| Stained | 0.00–1.00 | $90.60 | $55.15 | $53.55 |
| Crimson Web | 0.06–0.80 | $373.93 | $77.45 | $67.18 |
| Night Stripe | 0.06–0.80 | $136.81 | $44.56 | $46.68 |
| Urban Masked | 0.06–0.80 | $136.38 | $41.51 | $43.98 |
| Scorched | 0.06–0.80 | $108.82 | $40.48 | $41.81 |
| Forest DDPAT | 0.06–0.80 | $103.15 | $39.11 | $39.53 |
| Boreal Forest | 0.06–0.80 | $114.01 | $38.84 | $36.82 |
| Safari Mesh | 0.06–0.80 | $78.16 | $37.33 | $37.81 |
A few things stand out:
- The Fade is capped at 0.08, so it only exists in Factory New and Minimal Wear. Slaughter stops at 0.26, so there is no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred Slaughter.
- Crimson Web is the Factory New outlier. Every finish with a range starting at 0.06 needs a float between 0.06 and 0.07 to be Factory New. On a popular finish like Crimson Web, that scarcity pushes the price to $373.93.
- The camo finishes are all close. Safari Mesh, Boreal Forest, Forest DDPAT and Scorched all sit under $40 in their cheapest wear.
The cheapest Kukri
The cheapest Kukri we found was a Boreal Forest in Battle-Scarred at $36.82, with Safari Mesh Field-Tested at $37.33 right behind it. That makes the Kukri one of the cheapest knives in CS2, alongside the Navaja and the Shadow Daggers. Our cheapest knife of every type list puts it in context.
Unboxing one versus buying one
With about one Kukri per 385 Kilowatt openings at $2.60 each, the expected spend to unbox any Kukri is roughly $1,000. Across all 13 finishes, the average Kukri you would get is worth about $72. Buying the finish you want is much cheaper than chasing it, and that is before the 10% StatTrak roll or a specific finish, which is about one in 5,000 openings.

Which finish to pick
- Cheapest knife possible: Boreal Forest or Safari Mesh in Field-Tested or Battle-Scarred.
- A step up from camo: Stained ($55.15) and Blue Steel ($71.70) in Field-Tested.
- Something rarer: the Fade only comes in Factory New and Minimal Wear, and the Case Hardened’s pattern varies with each knife, so check the actual item before buying.
